Andy Sillars, qualified with BSc (Hons) in Sport, Health & Exercise in 2006. Since then he has worked as a Gym Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor, and Personal Trainer, whilst currently working as a Health and Wellbeing Consultant where he delivers group fitness, nutritional and rehabilitation classes in his local community in Scotland.

Married to a LesMills qualified instructor who (on top of her full-time job) teaches BodyPump, BodyCombat, and currently pursuing a BodyBalance qualification to combine, strength, cardiovascular and mobility for all round fitness, keeping a healthy lifestyle is a high priority for the couple.

Andy has always been keen on sport and keeping active. A Badminton champion at junior levels was followed by learning what gyms were all about and learning the optimum ways to train successfully. After using gyms for years he recently took up CrossFit, training at CrossFit Bathgate, to pursue a new challenge on building overall physical fitness.

After completing his degree in 2006, Andy has always kept a keen interest in the current science behind fitness and nutrition. A presentation at a convention in 2011 on the subject of why fat isn’t responsible for making us fat, motivated him into finding the truth behind our diets and lifestyles.

Andy is at his best when speaking to individuals who are interested in keeping fit, eating healthy, and staying motivated to continually learn and improve their health. It is his main goal to improve the health of anyone he can and keep it fun and realistic!!
